Fraud Alerts

The FDIC has informed all financial institutions of recent fraudulent emails that have been sent out that appear to be from legitimate financial institutions. The emails are being sent out to solicit information via email in an effort to illegally acquire personal and financial data. This data is used to access consumer accounts and/or commit identity theft. The email address and website address may appear to be legitimate, but they are fraudulent. This notification is an alert to First Missouri State Bank customers to be aware of any suspicious emails.

First Missouri State Bank will never email you with a request for confidential information. If an email looks suspicious to you, please call us at (573) 785-6800 to report the incident. You should also complete a complaint form at the Internet Crime Complaint Center website at http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/.

Protecting Your Personal Information
  • Be suspicious of any email with urgent requests for personal financial information.
  • Before submitting sensitive information through a website, look for the locked padlock on the browser's status bar or look for an "s" after the http in the website address (https://).
  • Never give out your Social Security number by email or phone.
  • Never give out your Personal Identification Number (PIN) for your credit, debit or ATM card by email or phone.
  • Always use strong passwords and personal identification numbers on any Internet accounts.
  • Review bank statements for accuracy as soon as you receive them.
